Hi there,
            With auspicious timing, this week’s Warhammer Forge newsletter is heralded by the chittering of vermin and the scratching of needle-sharp claws as we unleash two new monsters upon the unsuspecting Old World: the Skaven Brood Horror and Exalted Vermin Lord. We attempted to send this newsletter yesterday, August 12th, but a strange horned shadow in the depths of the internet prevented us from doing so until today...

Skaven Exalted Vermin Lord
Few creatures in the Warhammer world are as horrific and unnatural as the so-called Vermin Lords. These incarnate icons of the Horned Rat are worshipped and feared in equal measure by the Skaven, for they are wiser and more wicked than any living Grey Seer. The Grey Lords themselves only summon these horrors at times of direst need, for they are loath to raise up what they cannot easily dismiss.

Epitomising the lithe, twitching paranoia of their smaller rat-kin in a way no natural creature should, the Exalted Vermin Lord is a cyclopean fiend of unnatural size and power. Crouched atop a ruined pillar etched with the scratch-script of the Underfolk, with chunks of warpstone and the runes of its summoning embedded into its loathsome, squamous hide, the Exalted Vermin Lord clutches an immense, gnarled Doom Glaive in one palsied claw.

Designed by Mark Bedford, this model is an amazingly detailed centrepiece for any Skaven army, and is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 30th August.

Using these experimental rules (a more printer firendly version can be found here), the warriors of the Under-Empire may be led into battle by this most potent incarnation of their foul god. As a Storm of Magic Binding Scroll, any Warhammer army may enter into a pact with this horror from beyond.

Skaven Brood Horror
When the beastmasters of Clan Moulder spawn a pack of Giant Pox Rats, there is occasionally one among them who will brutally devour the rest of the brood, growing fat and bloated in both strength and savagery, the twisted forms of its kin still visible as they writhe and claw at their fleshy prison. The so-calledSkaven Brood Horrors are traded with the wealthier Skaven Clans for many thousands of slaves and warp-tokens for use as a war-mount by especially powerful or ostentatious Skaven warlords, or goaded into battle to flail and crush the foe beneath its clawed limbs.

The Skaven Brood Horror, designed by Trish Carden and Steve Whitehead, is a colossal, finely detailed, resin monster that is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 30th August. Its experimental rules (a more printer firendly version can be found here) can also be downloaded now, and included within them is a Storm of Magic Binding Scroll, allowing any Warhammer army to field a Skaven Brood Horror in a Storm of Magic game.

Warhammer Forge at Games Day Australia The full range of Warhammer Forge products, along with a huge selection of the Forge World range, will be available from the Forge World stand at Games Day Australia, held on 1st October at the Australian Technology Park, Redfern, NSW. Hi there,
            Warhammer Forge’s range already includes an abundance of great models and this week’s new release is no exception. The Dreadquake Mortar, the largest Chaos Dwarf war machine Warhammer Forge has yet released, is now available to pre-order. As well as details of this stunning new addition to our range, we also have an events update for you for the rapidly approaching Games Days in Chicago and Germany.

Chaos Dwarf Dreadquake Mortar
The massive and terrifying Dreadquake Mortar is amongst the largest and most devastating of the siege engines fielded by the Dwai Zharr. Akin, in appearance at least, to the bombards used by other races, the Dreadquake Mortar uses a vast boiler to generate steam pressure to fire its munitions. The sorcerous energies bound within these immense, volatile shells explode on impact, striking the battlefield like a hammer blow and causing untold devastation.

The Dreadquake Mortar is a huge war machine; a colossal mortar mounted upon an arcane steam carriage. The Mortar itself, designed by Tim Adcock and Keith Robertson, measures a mighty 8" long and towers over its four Chaos Dwarf crew figures and even its brutish, enslaved Ogre Loader.

Experimental rules for this mechanical behemoth are available to download from the Forge World website, and are taken from the forthcoming Warhammer Forge book Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos. The Chaos Dwarf Dreadquake Mortar is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 25th July.

Warhammer Forge at a Games Day near you!
The full range of Warhammer Forge products released so far this year will be on sale at Games Day Chicago on 30th July and Games Day Germany in Cologne on 7th August.

            In this week's Warhammer Forge newsletter we unveil a sinister and monstrous creature known of in ancient lore and reputed to lurk in the very darkest places of the Warhammer World: the Carmine Dragon! As well of the news of this amazing addition to our Warhammer range, we also have a summary of all the events that the Warhammer Forge staff and products will be present at in the coming months.

Carmine Dragon
Carmine Dragons are strange and rare beasts even amongst their storied kin; born, it is said, when a dragon's lair is saturated by the Amethyst wind of Death, the power of Shyish gathering and magnifying within the heart and soul of the beast yet to hatch.

Carmine Dragons (sometimes known in dark legend as Encarmine Dragons) are named for their scales, which darken from a deep, ruby red when young to a purple so dark as to be almost black when they age, and many ancient tales hold them as spectres of death. Sinister, clever and deadly creatures, they are reputed to be found in murky swamps, ancient battle sites and the ruins of fallen cities - anywhere where the echoes of death and destruction on a grand scale will feed their power and the whispers of the dead will echo in the darkness of their lair.

The Carmine Dragon, model designed by Trish Carden, is a complete resin kit packed with intricate detail that stands a majestic 8" (203mm) tall. Poised to unleash the devastating power of its magical breath, the Carmine Dragon has a 5" (125mm) wingspan and makes an ideal centrepiece for any Warhammer army.

            This week’s newsletter brings you details of two more exciting Chaos Dwarf releases, along with a reminder of our presence at Games Day Spain and Games Day Chicago. We can now officially announce that as well as attending these two great events, Warhammer Forge and Forge World will also be at Games Day Australia on the 1st October 2011!

Chaos Dwarf Magma Cannon
The Magma Cannon is a terrifying war machine that is a nefarious amalgam of field artillery piece and furnace. Their exact design and source of ammunition often differ, as some fire sorcerously-bound, volcanic glass shells filled with volatile liquids while others comprise massive boilers which unleash jets of molten iron, caustic acids and sulphur. Whatever their appearance, the Magma Cannon is a devastating weapon against those who suffer the wrath of the Chaos Dwarfs.

The Chaos Dwarf Magma Cannon, designed by Tim Adcock, is a finely detailed resin kit that contains three unique Chaos Dwarf crew designed byEdgar Skomorowski. While eminently effective as a stand-alone artillery piece, the Magma Cannon may also be towed by an Iron Daemon, allowing it great manoeuvrability across the battlefield and maximising its short-ranged destructive potential.

Experimental rules for the Magma Cannon are available to download now from the Forge World website, taken from the Legion of Azgorh army list that will feature in Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos.

Chaos Dwarf Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher
The Deathshrieker Rocket is one of the more diabolic examples of the Chaos Dwarf artificers’ mastery of blackpowder weapons. Bound within its munitions are howling, malevolent fire-spirits, which are unleashed as the multiple warheads of the Deathshrieker detonate over the battlefield in an incendiary storm. Unlike more mundane munitions, these explosions possess a terrible hunger: the shrapnel and tendrils of flame actively seek out victims. The tormented spirits are far from discerning as to whose flesh they burn though, and the Chaos Dwarfs must be cautious lest their own ranks are consumed by the fire storm.

The Chaos Dwarf Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher is a full resin war machine designed by Tim Adcock, supplied with three Chaos Dwarf crew sculpted by Edgar Skomorowski. Included in its rules is the option of a Steam Carriage upgrade which enables the Iron Daemon to rapidly redeploy this hellish war machine to better support the implacable advance of the Dawi Zharr.

Experimental rules for the Deathshrieker Rocket are available to download now from the Forge World website, taken from the Legion of Azgorh army list that will feature in Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos.

Both models are available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 27th June.

Games Day Spain – 3rd July 2011
Forge World will be attending Games Day Spain 2011, held at the Pabellon de Convenciones at Casa del Campo in Madrid. Our sales team will be bringing a wide selection of the Warhammer Forge and Forge World range, including both of our Show Only models for 2011: the Chaos Dwarf Hellsmith and MkIII Armoured Boarding Space Marine.

Games Day Chicago – 30th July 2011
Forge World will soon be returning to the U.S. for Games Day Chicago 2011, held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Centre. It’s been brought to our attention that last week’s Forge World newsletter incorrectly listed the date of Games Day Chicago as the 24th July. This is incorrect and it is actually held on the 30th July! Apologies for any confusion this caused.

	Hi there,             As the dust settles from Games Day France, this week’s newsletter brings you two more exciting releases for Empire and Chaos players: the notorious Captain Van Der Kraal and the Manann’s Blades Command group, and the brutal Chaos Siege Giant. We also have an update to our Events pages regarding Games Day Chicago 2011. Captain Van Der Kraal and Manann’s Blades Command Group Pirate, mercenary, smuggler, gallows thief, Captain Edvard Van Der Kraal has been many things in his life, almost all of them disreputable. He has cheated Morr a great many times over the years, fighting against the dark-mist kindred of the Cursed Marshes and emerging victorious; raiding Norsca with fire and sword; even surviving being shipwrecked on the infamous Vampire Coast of Lustria and returning to tell the tale. Despite his ruthlessness, he is a man of his word which makes him rare indeed and much sought after as a mercenary. The Manann’s Blades Command, designed by Steve Whitehead, comprises three complete miniatures: Captain Van Der Kraal himself along with a Standard Bearer and Musician, and is available to order now for immediate despatch. Full rules for this nefarious soldier of fortune and his ruthless followers will feature in the forthcoming Warhammer Forge bookTamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos. Chaos Siege Giant The Sorcerer-Smiths of the Chaos Dwarfs have long been aware of the battlefield potential of a captured Giant, and have been unable to resist the urge to ‘improve’ on the creature’s natural strengths. The most common result of this is the Siege Giant, a mutilated, half-insane creature made proof against attack by layer upon layer of iron and bronze plates nailed deep into the creature’s flesh and even directly to its massive skeleton. Weapons such as immense hooked blades are spliced directly onto the Giant’s truncated arms to enable it to scale or tear down fortifications and slaughter the largest monsters. The beast is also fitted with scaling hooks and chains, enabling its dead carcass to be used as a scaling platform should it fall. The Chaos Siege Giant, designed by Keith Robertson, is a complete resin and plastic kit that makes a barbaric centrepiece to any Warriors of Chaos army. Hi there,             This week’s newsletter contains a veritable feast of new releases, so without further ado we bring you the first of our eagerly awaited Chaos Dwarf kits! Chaos Dwarf Iron Daemon The Chaos Dwarfs possess a mastery of steam technology that would make the Engineers of the Empire baulk in awe. The Chaos Dwarfs fuel these war machines with the resources of their cruel land. Primarily this is a form of coal which is ensorcelled to burn hotter and more constantly than would naturally be possible, but lesser materials such as wood can be pressed into service if needs be, and rumours abound of infernal devices that run on blood, ground bones and screaming souls. The Iron Daemon is a compact, steam-driven armoured traction engine. Its boilers allow it to haul smaller war machines and munitions to the battlefield, and simultaneously operates pressure-fed cannonades. This means that the Iron Daemon is a powerful war machine, a fully mobile artillery piece capable of smashing down fortifications and hacking apart ranks of soldiers with murderous ease. The Chaos Dwarf Iron Daemon, designed by Tim Adcock, is a complete resin kit supplied with three detailed crew, sculpted by Thais Mariblanca Lopez. It is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 23rd May.Experimental rules for this deadly war machine, taken from the forthcoming Warhammer Forge book Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos, are available to download now from the Forge World website. Chaos Dwarf Infernal Guard The Infernal Guard defend the Black Fortress to the death against any who would assail it, and carry out the will of their lord without question. Their ranks are made up of Chaos Dwarfs to which some stain of failure or dishonour has befallen, and in the eyes of the cruel and unforgiving Chaos Dwarf society such a taint can stem from merely possessing blood ties to a failed battle commander, knowing defeat beneath the gaze of a Sorcerer or presiding over slaves who revolt. Whatever the cause of such dishonour, the Infernal Guard offer the solace of Hashut’s grace in death and anonymity in life. Upon taking the cult’s oath, names and past kinship are shorn away and their faces are sealed beneath hot iron and bronze masks which sear into their flesh. Only if they achieve great glory are the masks removed, exposing the warrior’s scarred face to the world once more. Drilled mercilessly by their Castellans and barracked in the burning deeps beneath the Black Fortress, only the strongest survive within the ranks of the Infernal Guard and few can withstand them in battle. Fewer yet can hope to break their line so great is their martial skill. Alan Bligh's Experimental rules for these fell warriors, taken from the forthcoming book Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos, are available to download now from the Forge World website. Infernal Guard  The Infernal Guard, sculpted by Edgar Skomorowski, is a detailed resin kit comprising ten Infernal Guard armed with hand weapons and shields. The kit contains ten differently detailed heads, two different styles of body and five individual designs of weapons, each festooned with the brutal detail of the Dawi Zharr. This kit is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 23rd May. Infernal Guard with Fireglaives The Fireglaive is a compact repeating handgun that also incorporates a single-edged blade that can be wielded much like a halberd. The Fireglaive is a complicated weapon to manufacture, and a difficult one to master, so their use is largely confined to the elite and to the Chaos Dwarf Daemonsmiths that fashion them. The Infernal Guard with Fireglaives, sculpted by Edgar Skomorowski, is a detailed full resin kit comprising ten Chaos Dwarf Infernal Guard armed with these deadly firearms. The kit contains ten individually detailed helmets, two differently detailed and posed bodies and two different Fireglaives, allowing for a great deal of modelling potential. This kit is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 23rd May. Infernal Guard Command Group Commanded by a Castellan, himself a once-shamed member of the Infernal Guard who has since won glory in battle and earned the right to bear his face to the world again, the Infernal Guard march beneath the cruel iron visage of Hashut, the fell daemon-god of their dark race. The clamour of their iron-shod strides are accompanied by the dolorous pounding of cruel drums. Sculpted by Edgar Skomorowski, the Infernal Guard Command Group comprises three full resin figures: a Castellan, Standard Bearer and a Musician. The set also contains weapon options for the Castellan which allow the Command Group to be used with both of the Infernal Guard kits released in this newsletter. It is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 23rd May. Warhammer Forge at Forge World Events Games Day France – Sunday 22nd May 2011 Warhammer Forge sculptor Edgar Skomorowski and graphic artist Sam Lamont, as well as Forge World sculptor Simon Egan, will be attending Games Day France, which is held on Sunday 22nd May at the Parc Floral de Paris. They will be bringing a display of work in progress miniatures and artwork with them, as well as future releases that have recently been handed to our Production team. You’ll be able to purchase our MkIII Armoured Boarding Space Marine and Chaos Dwarf Hellsmith Event Only models, as well as the recently released Eldar Lynx with Pulsar and Eldar Lynx with Sonic Lance, and the mighty Phantom Titan.  Warhammer Forge models such as the Marienburg Land Ship, Theodore Bruckner on Reaper and the Empire Ironsides Handgunner Conversion Kit will also be available alongside limited numbers of the Chaos Dwarfs kits announced in this newsletter.
